Newcastle University recently commissioned Ambic to manufacture some bespoke furniture for their impressive Long Gallery in the Percy Building entrance to be used as a cafe/coffee stop for students and visitors.
We manufactured beautiful, chunky MDF bench sets with a hard wearing veneer in walnut with hard wood lipping which is easy to keep clean. To mix it up a bit we also made some round, trumpet based cafe tables for a more intimate seating arrangement.
The servery counter is manufactured from MDF with a walnut veneer facing & hardwood edging. The counter top is made from laminated MDF in matt black. The overall effect is stylish and contemporary and students and visitors alike can enjoy a coffee in beautiful surroundings with Lord Percy’s portrait looking down on them!
